At NOS, we believe in leaving the world a bit better than we found it.
We’re in the fit-out and refurb business – which means, we’re in the people business. Together with our clients, we create spaces where teams can come together, connect and do what they do best. And it only makes sense that we carry that same purpose into the ways we give back to the community.
A People-First Purpose
Since day one, we’ve known that NOS had to be about more than making money. It needed to create a positive social impact and drive meaningful social change.
That means taking a human-centred approach to everything we do; supporting our NOStronauts (that’s our team!) while building strong working relationships with clients, community development practitioners, partners, training providers, social work professionals, carers, and local authorities.
When we’re looking for ways to give back, we focus on community empowerment, practical learning opportunities, community learning, and well-being. Every initiative is designed to be safe, high-quality, and to safeguard participants while making a real difference where it’s needed most in key areas of the local community.
The Themba Initiative
Launched in September 2025, the Themba Initiative is named after our founder’s late father. It represents our deeply personal commitment to education, professional development, and community-based learning.
The programme gives young students – particularly from underrepresented demographics – hands-on experience in commercial real estate. Mentoring and getting hands-on with real projects gives young people a clear view of the industry – and helps them start thinking about how they want their own roles to take shape in the future.
Working alongside schools, training providers, social work professionals, carers, and community development practitioners, our leadership team visits local students to share lived experiences, offer career insights, and have honest conversations about opportunity. Group work, problem-solving, and decision-making sessions also help learners develop teamwork, communication skills, and confidence.
We help young people get stuck in, learn the ropes, and pick up the skills they’ll need to make their own way 🚀
“At NOS we measure our success not only by the value we create, but by the lives we uplift, the communities we strengthen, and the future we help to build”
Supporting Our Communities
We know how crucial it is for people to have access to safe, comfortable spaces; that’s why NOS has long supported people experiencing homelessness. Every year, we take part in the Salvation Army Christmas Homeless Outreach, donating food, clothing, and essentials to those in need.
That’s why we work with charities that promote well-being, social justice, mental health, and social care across the wider community. For us, it’s about dignity, compassion, and showing up when it matters most.
We believe that fair pay is about more than just a salary – it reflects our responsibility to our employees, their families and the communities we’re a part of. When we make sure everyone in our team earns a wage that meets the real cost of living, we’re supporting their wellbeing, helping to lift the weight of financial stress and empowering them to thrive.
It’s clear to us that ethical business practices, employee welfare and sustainable growth go hand in hand. That’s why being a certified Living Wage Employer is a core part of our approach to corporate social responsibility.
Giving back isn’t optional at NOS; it’s part of who we are.
Every NOStronaut receives one paid day each year to support a charity or cause that aligns with their own values. Volunteering, fundraising, or hands-on action – whatever feels right.
This empowers our team to collaborate with community groups, strengthen relationships with charities they care about, and support meaningful community development through a thoughtful community development process.
